InWP: 2019 Year-in-Review

A truly transformative year for Innova Wealth Partners!  At the start of 2019, our sister company, Innova Wealth Management of Aligned Capital Partners Inc. had a single advisor and administered more than $50 million in client assets between 115 full-services families.  Thanks to two mergers and substantial growth, our expanded team of three advisors and three support staff now works with over 350 households and oversees in excess of $200 million.  It also launched a truly unique private pooled fund solution which creates substantial economies of scale, improves the speed of execution, and unlocks access to specialized products.

In 2019, we clarified our vision as a firm:

Provide clients with 360° wealth expertise and offer best-in-class products, delivered with exceptional client-centric service.

This year will also mark a year of transformation toward specialization within Innova Wealth Partners.  The merger with WealthMD brought Cliff Richardson & Amanda Potts to our team.  Cliff individually works with more medical professionals than almost any other advisor team in the region, while his experience with disability and complex insurance cases compliments our team well.  Amanda builds off her previous experience in the banking and insurance sectors as our Insurance & Group Business Lead, overseeing the life insurance and group investment client servicing.

The recent merger with Allain Labelle, a 40+ year veteran of the financial services industry, added a wide breadth of estate and tax planning knowledge to Innova Wealth.  As a Trust & Estate Planning Practitioner, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Certified Health Insurance Specialist, he has built his career on ensuring that accumulated wealth is not only safeguarded but also passed along to the next generation as efficiently as possible.

In November 2019, Laura Schmidt joined our team.  As a CPA Candidate, she has the knowledge base to provide guidance on a wide range of tax items.  More importantly, rather than being a small part on a few of our desks, Laura will dedicate her full attention to the tax and bookkeeping portions of our business.  This improvement should lead to faster response times to the ever-increasing demands from CRA and better position us to deal with growth.  She will also support the overall management of the business through a CFO-like role.

Having completed an advanced trading course on securities and Exchange Traded Funds, Kelly Dussiaume will now focus on trading and investment account management support.  By relegating the tax and bookkeeping aspects of her job to Laura, she is now free to prioritize the investment side of the business.

Finally, after more than 20 years in the financial advisory field, Tanya Edwards has fully transitioned to mortgages only.  Rather than dealing with investments, insurance, and mortgages, she is now free to focus her efforts solely on the mortgage and financing business.  She now works at arm’s length from Innova Wealth as an independent contractor but remains an integral part of our value package.

Last year was an important transition for Innova Wealth Partners as we consolidated operations and positioned ourselves to scale up and provide exceptional expertise as a team-approach to our clients’ growing needs.  We believe that we have positioned ourselves for an incredible decade and Thank You for your continued trust in our vision.
